I decided to redesign the packaging for this language software company called BERLITZ. These softwares are available to learn French, English, and Spanish. The current packaging still has the old look and I find it very busy. It's hard to find necessary information on it. There are too many overlaps and there are too many colors used in a small space. I want to give it a simple and contemporary look so that the consumers find it easy to read. This way they will also have a peace of mind that it's going to be easy to learn the language.

The active looks you have are nice. But I don't know about the other ones with the flowers and curly lines - the way they would relate to the language.

The bottom one seems most effective so far. It looks like you want to make it very simple compared to the old ones they have. Try to think more on those shape composition to get something fits the language learning software more.
ReplyDeleteThe 2 on the far right seem most like the contemporary simple look you're going for. I think using flowers and other decorative elements would be the wrong way to go if you're going for contemporary and simple.
ReplyDeleteI like the angled version, it's different and you could make it dynamic depending on color choices.
The box idea under it looks interesting as well, I'm wondering if there are going to be images in each box or just colored boxes.

The last one on the second row seems to be working the most. the flowery ones are getting a bit too girly. I like the modular feel of the last one on the second row but it seems disconnected with the text. try and bring them together.
ReplyDeleteI like that your design seem clean and not bust. But it would maybe work if it has something about language or learning maybe images or something like that. I think that the top designs look good.
ReplyDeletei also like the top designs. i think the two top right are my favorites and would look great with some dynamic color or even some images integrated about the software.
ReplyDeletei like the floral designs. hope fully the site i gave you will be some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThe top middle design has a nice elegance to it but there needs to be more elements relating to the language or its origin incorporated into the design.
ReplyDeleteYour thumbnails are all very nice looking and well done. My favorites are the 2nd, 4th and 7th. Each is very clean and elegant which is a great improvement on their current package design. Be careful you don't end up not having enough information on the box for people to easily tell what it is.
ReplyDeleteI like how you experimented with the type on the first one. The one I think will be the most successful will be the one with the squares. There is nice negative space and you can do a lot with he squares.
ReplyDeleteKeep away from the flowers. I'm not sure what they have to do with the language. Unless its a French flower, but then you will need to find different region flowers that may still have nothing to do with speaking a foreign language.
Keep it up.
The last one on the second row seems like it would work best. The idea of the boxed images are interesting. It has a unique look to it.
ReplyDeleteThe floral designs are nice but not sure how it would pertain to the learning software.
